Maybe it's a challenge because I work at a technical high school. But in my experience, students increasingly realize that computers can help them with assignments and exams.
For example, I have a student who takes notes in the program Notion.so every day. Notion has just released an alpha version of its note system, where students can ask questions in the program and get answers from artificial intelligence. There are many perspectives on mixing notes with AI. For example, the student can get content elaborated without asking the teacher or finding it in the book themselves. Students are perfectly able to see the possibilities, but they struggle to calculate the challenges of the new technology.
The big challenge is that we as educators are not prepared for this new reality, where source criticism and immersion are replaced by an algorithm and a database.
